The Thundercats was released to American viewing audiences in 1983 and the show debuted in 1985. The Thundercats tv show was based on the premise of the good cats, led by Lion-o waging battle against the evil, led by Mumm-Ra, and featured action packed fighting sequences that involved magic, technology, and hand to hand combat. The Thundercats was one of the most highly watched cartoons during its initial run and led to a comic book series, action figures, and sindication of the Thundercats tv show.
