Rocky
Rocky was released in 1976 and was written by Sylvester Stallone. Rocky is a story of rags to riches in which if you get an opportunity, you must seize the moment. The film stars Stallone as Rocky Balboa a good hearted debt collector who is a local prize fighter. Rocky is eventually given a shot at the world title after the challenger to the title breaks his hand. Apollo Creed, who is the current champion, decides to have a gimick fight and decides to give a local fighter a chance at the title. He chooses Rocky Balboa based on his nickname, The Itallion Stallion, and sets the fight up in Philadelphia on the nations 200th birthday. Although Rocky doesn't win the title, he is the equal match to the champ not through style or technique, but through heart. Rocky was a huge hit and won the Oscar and spawned 5 sequels ending with Rocky Balboa.
