Mister Rogers' Neighborhood
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is a children's tv show created by Fred Rogers and ran on the WQED in Pittsburgh and is the second longest running program ever on PBS. Mister Rogers' Neighborhood dealt directly with children and the series usually focused on Mister Rogers taking the kids to such places as factories, participating in experimentations and crafts, and inter action with neighborhood friends. The series was unique in that it took on complex issues with kids and taught them how to deal with their feelings about life's misfortunes including as death, divorce, and war. Mister Rogers' neighborhood also featured the popular segment of Neighborhood of Make-Believe in which many actors got their start including Pittsburgh native, Michael Keaton.
