Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was released in 1989 and starred Keanu Reeves as Theodore Ted Logan and Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston Esq. Bill as two high school students that are flunking out of history. A guitar playing mystic from the future known as Rufus arrives in San Demis to help Bill and Ted pass the class because Bill and Ted's garage band is the key to the world's future and peace. If they don't pass history, their music will never be heard as the band will be broken up. Rufus lends Bill and Ted his time machine and they goes back in time and collects various historic figures and brings them back to San Dimas for their history presentation. They both pass the class on the heels of their presentation and now can focus on their world changing music.
